The Canon EOS R5 price has leaked and it will cost $5800. ????
Take this all with a grain of salt until it is confirmed, but a camera store in Australia is currently listing the camera for sale with a price of $10,499 Australian Dollars.
Do some currency exchanging and you will see the R5 price is $6779 USD, which makes the R5 cost more than the 1DXiii!
But according to Matthew Allard at Newshooter (linked below), the same camera retailer is also listing the 1DXiii at $11,537 Australian Dollars, which puts it much more expensive than the same camera sold in America.
Matthew did some math and he's betting if you remove the 512GB CFExpress card and card reader, you're looking at a USD price of $5800.
Now I hope this is all wrong! I hope this camera store in Australia is mistaken and they are completely overestimating the R5 price. I'm really hoping this camera is priced competitively with the Panasonic S1h and Canons own 5DIV and comes in at around $4000.
What do you think about this? Were you planning on buying an R5? And will you still buy an R5 at $5800?
